Patisserie are wonderful, located in Florence, Rome, New York or Paris. But they have to be excellent. It’s nothing worse than eating poor pastries and, mostly, fattening uselessly! There are many good Florentine patisserie and I would like to emphasize that this article is not listed in order of appreciation. The selection was made both for the excellence of the product, for the customer service and for pleasantness of the room.

Dolcissima Firenze. A top class. Excellent brioche.  Refined pastry. It was in Via Maggio, (boiserie in old Paris style), now it has moved. At the end of October it will open in Via Nazionale, in Florence, and Sesto Fiorentino in Via Verdi.

Patisserie Minni. Via Giacomini 16, behind Piazza Savonarola. A good and well know pastry shop by florentine. Unforgettable bignè with zabaione and sandwiches with eggs and salmon. Their speciality is strawberry cake. Managed by woman of various generation. There are two small tables to sit down. More smiling service it would not be so bad!

Castaldini. Viale dei Mille 49. For years on the top, about two years ago has changed management to improve even more. Good bignè and salads too. Very nice and smiling staff. Nice place where have breakfast sitting.

Patisserie Giorgio. Via Duccio di Buoninsegna 36, in Soffiano. Historical and artisanal pastry shop, award-winning. Always quite croweded. Excellent restaurant, catering and appetizer too. A very  good schiacciata alla fiorentina. I love millefoglie with an out of ordinary cream! Tables are out and inside the pastry shop. Even in this case it would be useful a little more customer orientation.

Patisserie Cesare. Via Gabriele D’Annunzio 106C. It’s one of my favourites. Unforgettable hot cream with biscuits, great bomboloni with cream or chocolate. Very good cakes. Great cappuccino. The pastry shop is large, clean  and the staff is nice. Near Cesare there are many school, so many mums go out for long breaks. Good even for a quick lunch.

Patisserie Stefania. Via Marconi 26. Well-known neighborhood pastry shop. The best pizza, very good cream and cappuccino. Excellent  pastry without grain.  Stefania is among the best patisseries especially for her Easter colomba. You can not stop eating it! The pastry shop is large and always clean. There are tables to be more comfortable. It is almost crowded especially in breakfast time. All the birthday cakes for my children have been bought in this pastry shop. Staff courteous, but if you’re unfriendly to the owner you will not be back!

Dolci e dolcezze. Piazza Beccaria 8. Very small patisserie but very well furnished. In this  pastry shop everything is refined, from the beautiful  and luxurious pastry to the eighteenth century style furnishings. Great croissants and small pastry with unusual combinations. I love their Christmas panettone and their coffee. If you are looking for quality you are in the right place.
