The shopping for Texans, as for many Americans, takes place in the huge outlets located outside the big cities. The largest, or at least the biggest I’ve ever seen, is the San Marco Outlet halfway between San Antonio and Austin. We stayed there for a whole day and as soon as we returned home we crashed out of steam. We did not even have dinner, that was fatigue.
A tiring experience that I would not redo, I hate the outlets, anonymous constructions and also the B series products. I must say, however, that it was worth it only for the sales from Ralph Lauren. They are amazing! But, if you are looking for typical Texan boots, plausibly authentic workmanship and cowboy clothing, you have two possibilities:
Cavender’s Boot City on Burnet & 183,8809 Burnet Road. The reign of cowboy or cowgirls for forty-five years.
Allen’s Boots, 1522 Congress Avenue. Very beautiful boots, finished in every detail. Mostly very expensive, from five hundred dollars. But it is still possible to find good opportunities.
